Sin City:A Dame to Kill For

With the movie Sin City A Dame to Kill For coming out this weekend I decided to go through my long box of comics to find the series it's based on its a noir style story about lost love, betrayal, revenge and a whole lot of violence by the legendary Frank Miller. They were right there all of the 6 issues in their bags since I 1st bought them back in 1993.I was planning on re reading the series before I see the movie but decided against it because it's been so long since I read it I've forgotten alot of what happened so I'd like to be surprised when I watch the movie.
If you've see the 1st movie and read the 1st series you know it was a panel for panel, word for word adaptation from the comic. That made it fun to watch but then I knew what was coming next, that's why I put these comics back cause I'm sure this movie will be the same way and I'd like to watch it without knowing every little thing that's going to happen.I have to warn you yes its a "comicbook movie" but no one's flying around in tights and there's no talking raccoon or tree but I think you should still check it out but its not everyone's cup of tea but  I'll definitely will be checking it out.
Until next time my friends stay geeky and hungry.

The Real Expendables

The Expendables movie series is very popular with a simple formula, old action actors, over the top action, corny one liners and a simple story and people love it . I admit I liked the 1st one the 2nd not so much and recently gave part 3 a chance.Less than half way through I had to turn it off my brain couldn't take it don't get me wrong I love a good "turn your mind off summer movie" cough cough any Michael Bay movie, but but I could only take so much of this movie. Then I tried a new animated movie from DC called Batman : Assault on Arkham by Jay Oliva.
Batman might be in the title but this movie is more a Suicide Squad story. Those of you who don't know the Suicide Squad is a group of criminals the government aka Amanda Waller puts together and send on missions that's "off the books".The members of this squad include the likes of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Frost and King Shark. The movie is rated PG-13 but trust me it's no kids cartoon, racy language and a scene between Harley and Deadshot that's more "R" rated. With that said I highly recommend you buy this dvd when it comes out August 12th, great story, characters, they are drawn as their version from the Arkham video game series and the chemistry between the members of the squad was very we done. This dvd will be in my top 5 rotation easily DC has done another great job with their animated dvds and if Sylvester Stallone wants to make another Expendables movie I hope he watches this 1st lol.
Until next time my friends stay geeky and hungry.
